Where has the time gone?!

I'm convinced the older I get the faster time goes by! So I've been done with school and really enjoying my free time. I have been spinning up a storm, dyeing fiber and even some crochet. Hardly any knitting...I've fallen in love with spinning. Can you tell? That's part of my stash there on the left. It used to be full of yarn but I had a huge destash on Ravelry and I've filled it up with my hand-dyed fiber and hand-spun yarn.

I kind of want a second wheel, something a little more "sturdy" than the one I have. I still haven't decided but I've been saving up for it but I'm still on the fence about getting it.

B is growing up soo fast. He's 19 months now and is a handfull and a half. He loves to run, play with cars and trucks. Watch cars and trucks go down the street and play in dirt. He is such a little man. I'll leave you all with a picture of him on the trampoline out back. He loves to jump on it and now that I've taught him where the middle is he is getting pretty good.

I'm back...well kind of

So it's finals week(s), and I have one tomorrow and then a couple more next week. Then I have a break and I'm thinking about summer classes...it's a maybe at this point. I'm tired!

I've been knitting a little, but more spinning! It's addictive! I want soo much fiber it's crazy! But I'm working on my little fiber stash now. The picture on the left is some of my first yarns. Fiber is from The Sheep Shed Studio. Well it's late and I still need to work some math problems, take a shower and hit the sack.

Good-night!

Spring is in the air!

I can tell cause I can't stop sneezing! Anywho, things are going well. School, and my main man. He is just too precious, I just put him to bed and he was falling asleep with his feet on me. That's how he falls asleep, ever since he was a little little guy. He turns over and looks at me then gives me a kiss and lays his head on my arm. He knows how to melt my heart!

So I have a couple new toys that I'm very excited about. First up is my Schacht Ladybug Wheel. She's soo cute and I've picked up the wheel spinning pretty well I think. Knowing how to spin on a drop spindle helped. I also puchased a Cricket weaving loom, but I have yet to warp it and get the feel of it. Once I do I will take lots of pictures!

I'm about 3/4 of the way done with my 38thirty sweater, I started another project which is finished. Ishbel Which just needs to be blocked, and I will post the final pretty pictures of it but here is one of part of it. It was a super quick knit and took one ball and about a few yards of another of KP Palette which I had in the stash. I'm really trying to stash bust to make room for handspun yarn.

Oh and my favorite source for roving, at fabulous prices...Sheep Shed Studio!!! Carol has some great handdyed superwash that I'm currently spinning. She sells Brown Sheep mill ends and other fabulous fibers. After ordering and joining the group on Ravelry, I want a drum carder!! But that will have to wait!

I seriously have a fiber addiction, now!

New Love

I have a new love for sweater knitting. I'm working on 28thirty which is quick. I'm using up some Wool-ease I had in my stash, and the color goes with this top I love but haven't worn since my freshman year. I'll have some treats to share in a couple of weeks. I'll give you all a hint...I have a couple of bugs coming to live with me. A cricket and a ladybug! I'll leave you with a picture of my boy "tasting" my sweater.

Back to Work

Well I'm officially back at school, and I'm employed!!! Which is great because half of my stress is always money related.....2009 is looking good so far. I'm using my degree and working for a real estate/law firm doing boring corporate graphic stuff. But hey it REALLY pays my bills and the some. Plus my boss is super nice, and I pick my hours! Win Win.

B is good, he's really starting to slim down. He was a chunky lil man, which I loved. But now he runs everywhere, jumps on everything and is loving his freedom. He's working on a few more teeth, which is rough but he's taking it well with the help of Tylenol.

Knitting!!! I'm still knitting even though I have even less time. I'm working on a few projects. I use to be a one project kind of gal but now I have 3 going! A new Toasty Topper for B, since the first one has been lost. Felicity for me, and Bella Mittens for me as well.

I think I'm going to tackle a sweater. Something with a bit of challenge but with good ole stockinette stitch because I love it. I guess I have reservations about knitting sweaters because they take a while and I'm not a tiny girl. But I'm starting to love knitting just because it's meditative and not so much for the gratification.

Have a good Sunday!

Where has the time gone?!

I can't believe 2008 is gone! Well 2009 leads to bigger and better things. My holidays were ok. The stomach flu went around the family and so not much eating or cooking happened. Mainly just recovering.

B got lots of great gifts that he love love loves and plays with all the time now. Plus his b-day gifts. I think having a birthday around the holidays is a great, I'm a little jealous. He's growing up soo fast and really showing his color even more. He's a sweet boy that gives lots of hugs and kisses but man does he have a temper. He's exploring his world even more, especially the time outside.

I have been knitting a lot since school let out. I've made seven...yes 7! Scarfs/cowls as gifts. The picture on the right are two of the Bainbridge scarves(ravelry link)I made. Quick, easy and super cute. I still have 3 long scarves that need to be finished. Which I will do this week since school starts back up on Monday.

I haven't done any spinning...well any notable spinning. But I have found another fiber hobby that I will indulge in once I get my tax refund or school loan refund.

Weaving! I'm going to buy a Cricket loom, which is tiny but cute. I would love a bigger one but having a very active 13 month old around the house it's not possible, which is why I won't get a spinning wheel either. Not until Bry is older and I'm in a house of my own with a craft room.

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and I'll try and post more but working on my pre-reqs and support classes, plus Bry and hopefully working. My time is super short!
